Irish Barista Championship (IBC) 2025

We’re delighted to announce the 2025 Irish Barista Championship (IBC), will take place on 23rd & 24th August 2025 at the Bewley’s Grafton St, Dublin. Alongside the barista championship action across both days, we’ll have panel talks presented by La Marzocco and full hand on area to get to grips with La Marzocco, Anfim Grinders, as well as getting to see Marco’s MilkPal in full action. We’ll have more news on what else will be happening over the two days, just follow us on Instagram (@sca_ireland) to stay up to date!

We have some incredible sponsors on board, including Bewley’s Coffee, La Marzocco, Brew-It Group with Anfim Grinders, Marco, Brita & REL Group, Oatly, Brewed by Hand & Hario, Acaia, Grove Dairy, Material Goods and InterAmerican Coffee! We cannot thank them enough, with their support we can put together this event with a top-class team of judges and send the winner to the World Championships in Milan.

*Tickets have no limit and free entry ticket is not required and does not guarantee entry on either day. It will be an open door policy and we welcome as many people as we can to call in over the two days! As these tickets are free, people often request more than they need, or just secure a space on the off chance that they can go. We want the event to be a great success and want as much support for the competitors as possible. Signing up for a ticket means we can keep you up to date with things going on for the day and help us gauge numbers for the event!

Further Entry Information

Each competitor will compete in the Opening Round on Saturday 23rd August, with the top 6 competitors going through to theFinals on Sunday 24th August. The winner will go on to represent Ireland at the World Barista Championship which take place at HostMilano, Italy, across 17-21 October 2025.

Places are available on a first-come-first-served basis. If all places are taken, email info@scaireland.ie to be placed on the waiting list.

Rules & Regulations: https://wcc.coffee/rules-regulations. (WBC 2025 Rules). We will have a mandatory grinder sponsor for IBC 2025. Full details to be announced soon.

When purchasing the entry, you must include the full name of the person who will be competing. If the named person cannot compete, that place will be offered to the next person on the waiting list. It is not transferable by the original purchaser.

A refund will only be offered if the place is taken by another competitor. No refunds will be given later than 14 days before the competition.

Entry Fee is €60.00 for SCA Members and €80 for Non-Members. SCA Membership is not mandatory to compete. SCA members should apply for a €20 (or €10 pre-sale) refund on the entrance fee by providing proof of SCA membership (for the named competitor) once registration is complete. Early Registration Pre-Sale discount of 50% will be available for anyone who registers by Friday 27/06/2025.

Strictly one entry per person per transaction.

By entering this championship, all participants must read, understand and agree to the Code of Conduct for National Chapter Event Participants. This Code of Conduct applies to all SCA national chapter event participants and must be signed and returned before the competition.

By entering this championship, you agree to your details being shared with sponsors and hosts to enable samples, promotional items, etc. to be sent. This may also include use for publicity/promotional purposes. Please contact us should you not wish for your details to be shared for publicity/promotional purposes.
