Irish Barista Championship (IBC)

The Irish Barista Championships showcase the finest baristas from across Ireland, celebrating skill, creativity, and passion for coffee. In this competition, participants prepare a series of espresso-based beverages, including espresso, milk-based drinks, and a signature drink, all presented to a panel of judges. Competitors are scored on their technical ability, coffee knowledge, creativity, presentation, and, of course, the taste of their drinks.

This event is an incredible opportunity for coffee professionals to push their limits, hone their craft, and share their unique coffee stories with the world. Whether you’re a seasoned competitor or a first-timer, participating in the Irish Barista Championships is a rewarding experience that can open doors to both personal growth and professional success.

    It is imperative that any potential competitor or judge reads through and understands the rules of the competition.

  • Details on competitor registration will be shared on SCA Ireland website, social media and email. Once live, tickets should be bought from the SCA Ireland website, on a first come, first served basis.

  • If you’re not sure about competing or judging, but would like to get involved, we’d love to hear from you! We need volunteers to help with the running of the competition, everything from backstage managing, timekeeping to stage running. Even if it’s one day, we really value your time and input.
