This year at Catex 2019 we will be hosting the Irish Barista Championships and the Irish Latte Art Championships over the course of the three days. We will also have a new Members Brew Bar stand running everyday over the course of the event, each day you can sample three different Irish roasters brewing up their coffee. Tuesday the 26th we will have the Irish Barista Championship semifinals where we have 10 competitors trying to claim a place in the finals. You’ll be able to try Silverskin Coffee, The Art of Coffee and Cloud Picker on our Members Brew Bar.

On Wednesday the 27th we have the Irish Latte Art Championship which sees 12 more competitors trying to win a spot in the finals. We also will have an SCA Ireland Sponsor panel during the intermission of the competition, 12:15 to 13:30. Come to hear the thoughts on sponsorship, industry insights and what future innovations they see for the coffee industry.
You’ll be able to catch Urbanity Coffee, Three Fools Coffee and Creed Coffee Roasters on our Members Brew Bar.

On Thursday from 12:30 to 13:30 we have the Irish Brewers Cup champion, Stephen Houston from Bailies Coffee Roasters taking the stage and demonstrating his competition brewing techniques and how to brew coffee like a professional. We will have the finals of both the Irish Barista and Latte Art Championships with winners for both announced at 4pm.
You’ll be able to find Ponaire, Coffee Culture and Badger & Dodo on our Members Brew Bar.

We’re delighted to announce that SCA Ireland will be hosting another National Judges Certificate course in Dublin after last years successful run!

The course will take place for 2 days over a weekend in early February 2019 (exact date tbc) and is free to attend but commitment to judge on our upcoming national competitions is required.

To attend this course you must have former national judging experience or have attended the National Judges courses.

To register your interest please email judging@scae.ie and we’ll confirm your attendance at a later date.

The SCA Ireland 2017 AGM will take place on the 8th of September at 14:30 sharp. This year it will be held in 3FE Sussex Terrace and all SCA Ireland Members are welcome and encouraged to attend.

Registration for the Irish Barista and Cup Taster competitions will open on Monday 12th December 2016 at 10:00.

The Irish Barista competition will have a maximum of 30 entrants

The Cup Tasters competition will have a maximum of 30 entrants

Dates for semi-finals and finals of each competition may change accordingly and will be announced after registration has closed.

Closing date for registration is Friday 20th of January 2017 at 17:00.
